Dental Bonding
What is bonding?
Dental bonding is a simple and effective way to resolve minor teeth issues using a specially formulated composite resin material.
What happens during this treatment?
The dental bonding treatment is one of the quickest and most cost-effective cosmetic dental treatments available, and generally lasts less than an hour.
Why is bonding needed?
Dental bonding is useful if you are experiencing a minor issue with one or several of your teeth, such as minor cracks, chips, gaps or discolouration. Bonding does not alter the structure of your teeth, but merely “fills in” where needed.
What happens after the treatment?
Seeing as dental bonding is done with a composite material as opposed to metal, the area needs regular care after the treatment is performed. Composites should be brushed and flossed daily, and it is also worth bearing in mind that the material stains easily, especially when you consume the likes of wine, tobacco and some brightly-coloured foods.
It is important to bear in mind that bonding is not as durable as other treatments like crowns or veneers, and as such they may need to be replaced in the future.
